5B Cyprus – Special callsign 5B50CARS celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Amateur Radio Society (CARS). Look for activity on 15 April (the actual anniversary date), 18 April (World Amateur Radio Day) and 25-26 April (100th anniversary of IARU and 75th anniversary of IARU Region 1). QSL via LoTW and QRZ Logbook.
5H Tanzania – Maurizio, 5H3MB (IK2GZU) reports that, despite the equipment being disconnected during the storm, a lightning strike destroyed his radio, power supply and PC. He has a backup radio and will attempt to repair the power supply. However, he is currently unsure if he will be able to resume operations before his departure. He will be in Tanzania until 8 April.
8Q Maldives – Flavio, IW2NEF will be active holiday style as 8Q7EF from the Maldives (AS-013) on 3-10 April. He will operate digital modes and SSB on 40-6 metres. QSL via Club Log’s OQRS, LoTW, or direct to IK2DUW.
D6 Comoros – D68Z will participate in this weekend’s CQ WW WPX SSB Contest as a single-band entrant (10 metres, low power). Elvira will QRT on 31 March or 1 April. Nearly 75,000 QSOs have been logged so far. QSL via Club Log’s OQRS, LoTW, or via IK2WAD (direct and bureau).
ER Moldova – ER100IARU is the special callsign for the Amateur Radio Society of Moldova (ARM) to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the IARU between 22 March and 30 April. QSL via the bureau; QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW, Club Log, eQSL, QRZ Logbook and HamLog.
F France – This year marks the centenary of the Reseau des Emetteurs Francais, the French member society of the International Amateur Radio Union. To commemorate this event, the REF is launching a “Radio Challenge” which will run from 1 April to 30 June and will see the participation of a very large number of special callsigns. These will include TM100REF (21 April-5 May), from TM01REF to TM95REF (departments of metropolitan France), TK2AREF and TK2BREF (Corsica), TO###REF and TX###REF (overseas departments and territories, e.g. TO974REF for La Reunion). FJ Saint Barthelemy – Jim, K6EI and Scott, KK6IK will be active as FJ/K6EI and FJ/KK6IK from St. Barthelemy (NA-146) on 5-12 April. They will operate CW, FT8 and FT4 on 80-6 metres with two stations. QSLs via LoTW, or direct to home calls.
GU Guernsey – The Guernsey Amateur Radio Society will operate special event station GU80LIB on 9-11 May to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Channel Islands at the end of World War II. QSL via LoTW, Club Log’s OQRS, direct, or via the bureau.
HI Dominican Republic – Celebrating World Amateur Radio Day (18 April), members of the Sociedad Dominicana de Radioaficionados (SDRA) will be active as HI0DMRA on 1-30 April.
HS Thailand – Celebrating the International Amateur Radio Union’s centenary, members of the Radio Amateur Society of Thailand (RAST) will be active on the HF bands, 2 metres and satellites as HS100IARU on 1-30 April. QSL via LoTW and Club Log’s OQRS.
JD1_oga Ogasawara – Koji, JI1LET and Takeshi, JA1UII will be active as JD1BOI and JD1BON, respectively, from Chichijima (AS-031), Ogasawara on 8-17 April. They will operate CW, SSB and FT8/FT4 on 160-6 metres. QSLs via LoTW, or direct to home calls.
LX Luxembourg – LX100IARU is the special callsign for the Radioamateurs du Luxembourg (RL), a founding member of IARU, to celebrate the centenary of the International Amateur Radio Union until 31 July. QSL via Club Log’s OQRS.
OZ Denmark – In celebration of World Amateur Radio Day, a number of Danish stations will be signing 5P0WARD/x with different suffix extensions on 18 April. QSL via Club Log’s OQRS and LoTW, or via OZ1ACB. An award will be available, see https://www.qrz.com/db/5p0ward for information.
PJ6 Saba – Team PJ6Y will be active from Saba (NA-145) on 17-29 October. The team will comprise 14 on-site operators, eight of whom will be under the age of 25. The local team will be complemented by 25-30 remote operators. There will be five stations: three for the local operators, and two NexGenRiBs2 for remote operation. Activity will be on 80-6 meters CW, SSB and FT8, plus satellite. PJ6Y will also participate in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. TY Benin – Red, DL1BUG is active as TY5FR from Cotonou, Benin until 9 April. He operates CW and SSB on 80-10 metres. QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW and Club Log.
VE Canada – Ted, VE3EDE might be active as VE3EDE/VY0 from Iqaluit, Baffin Island (NA-047) on 28-30 March. He will operate QRP, using mainly FT8 on 30, 20, 17, 15 or 12 metres as propagation permits.
Z3 Macedonia – Celebrating IARU’s centenary, members of the Radioamateur Society of Macedonia (Z37RSM) will be active as Z3100IARU from 25 March to 18 May. QSL via LoTW, eQSL, QRZ Logbook.
ZC4 U.K. Sov. Base on Cyprus – Dave, G4WXJ expects to go back to Dhekelia, UK Sovereign Base Areas on Cyprus, on 6-11 April. He will be active holiday style as ZC4RH on 40-6 metres CW, SSB, FT8 and FT4. QSL via Club Log’s OQRS and LoTW.
