De DX-tips voor de week van 19 – 26 april
5H Tanzania – Kasimir, DL2SBY will be active as 5H1KB from Zanzibar Island (AF-032), Tanzania from 22 April to 1 May. This year he will use a small antenna and low power; he plans a return visit next year with better antennas, an amplifier and a focus on 6m. QSL via LoTW, or direct to home call. He no longer uses the bureau.
F France – Dominique, F5SJJ will be active as TM100RA for the centenary of the IARU on 18-25 April. QSL via eQSL and LoTW, paper QSLs will not be provided.
GD Isle of Man – David, M0YBC will be active as MD0YBC from the Isle of Man (EU-116) on 25-28 April and 1-4 August. Plans are to operate from the eight POTA sites on the island. QSL via M0YBC, direct or bureau.
I Italy – Members of ARI Acireale (IT9BTI, IT9CYE, IT9DNM, IT9EJW, IT9GAC, IT9JTM, IT9KQT, IT9KRQ and IT9QBZ) will be active as ID9/IQ9BF from Vulcano Island (EU-017) on 25-27 April. They will operate SSB, CW and digital modes on 80-10 metres with three stations. All QSOs will be confirmed automatically via the bureau; direct cards via Club Log’s OQRS.
I Italy – Look for IY0CG, IY0GA (Sardinia), IY0IMD, IY0MMR, IY0ORP, IY0TC, IY1MR, IY1SM, IY1SP, IY1TO, IY4FGM, IY5PIS, IY6GM and IY7M to be active during the International Marconi Day (26 April). QSL via operators’ instructions. These stations are affiliated to the “Coordinamento Stazioni Marconiane Italiane”, which gathers amateur radio stations operating from historic Marconi sites located in Italy (http://csmi.altervista.org/wp/).
JA Japan – JARL is operating special event station 8K3EXPO from the premises of the 2025 Expo in Osaka, from 13 April to 13 October. JD1_oga- Mitsuru, JE1HXZ will be active as JD1BPG from Haha Island (AS-031), Ogasawara from 26 April to 4 May. He will operate CW, SSB and digital modes on 160-6 metres. QSL via LoTW, or via JE1HXZ.
OE Austria – Special event station OE25M will be activated to take part in the International Marconi Day (26 April). QSL via OE1YPP (bureau) or direct to DokuFunk, OE25M, An den Steinfeldern 4A, 1230 Wien, Austria.
OK Czech Republic – OL100IARU, OL100I, OL100A, OL100R and OL100U are the special callsigns for the Czech Radio Club to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the International Amateur Radio Union from 15 April to 31 December. A certificate will be available, see https://ol100iaru.cz/ for information. QSLs via LoTW.
SV5 Dodecanese – Panos, SV8PMM will be active holiday style as J45P from Agathonisi Island, Dodecanese (EU-001) on 17-21 April. He will run 20 watts and will operate SSB, CW and digital modes on 80-10 metres. QSL via SV8PMM; QSOs will be uploaded to Club Log, LoTW and eQSL.
VE Canada – Mark, VO1ONE/N8TLV will be active as VY0SAT from Gjoa Haven, King William Island (NA-131) from 30 April to 3 May. He will be active on satellite (both linear and FM, no digital) and on 20-10 metres, primarily SSB and FT8. Satellite passes will be announced on https://hams.at/ and https://x.com/vo1one. QSL via LoTW and N8TLV.
W USA – Bruce, K5TEN will be active as K4D from St. George Island (NA-085) from 27 April to 4 May. He will operate SSB and CW on 40-6 metres, plus some FM on 10m. QSL via LoTW, or direct to home call.
YB Indonesia – Special callsigns 8A146RA, 8A146KAR, 8A146TI, and 8A146NI will be active on 19-21 April commemorating the 146th anniversary since the birth of Raden Adjeng Kartini (1879-1904). Look for activity on the five classic bands SSB. QSL via Club Log’s OQRS, or via N2OO. See https://award.orari.or.id/kartini-award/2025 for the certificates. R.A. Kartini was an activist who advocated for women’s rights and female education; in 1964 she was awarded the title of National Hero of Indonesia.
ZL New Zealand – Special event station ZL6ANZAC will be active from the Wrights Hill Fortress in Wellington, New Zealand for ANZAC Day (25 April). QSL via operator’s instructions. ANZAC Day commemorates the soldiers of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who fought in Gallipoli during World War I, and all Australians and New Zealanders who have served in war and peacekeeping operations.
ZS8 Prince Edward & Marion Islands – Yuris, YL2GM will be active as ZS8W from Marion Island (AF-021) between 21 April and 16 May. He will be on the island as a radio engineer and a member of the SANAP station’s communications equipment maintenance team. He will operate CW, SSB and FT8 on 160-6 metres.
